Catherine Jago has over 40 years experience in the commercial side of the oil industry during which she has worked as a trader, broker, operator, price forecaster, journalist, credit analyst, and management consultant and which has included hedging and derivative analysis and trading.
She has extensive experience of the role of an Expert Witness over the past 33 years having been cross examined on numerous occasions in arbitrations and court proceedings, in the UK and extensively abroad. She is regularly appointed by leading maritime, insurance and commercial firms of solicitors as well as many of the major trading houses in the world.
Catherine is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute if Arbitrators, a member of the Expert WItness Institute, LMAA, LCIA, GIAC, SCMA. She has written numerous papers and presented lectures on hedging and their impact on damages. She has contributed to, or authored, a number of books on oil trading and hedging. She is the Director of CJH Experts which offers experts in a range if disciplines, including shipping, gas, metals, chemistry, upstream procurement, risk management and use of derivatives, as well as crude oil and products.
