Ritesh is a maritime lawyer, marine engineer and techno-legal expert for shipping casualties and associated claims. He has over 25 years of experience in shipping industry and has acquired specialist knowledge in International Maritime Law along with English and Indian Law. He is currently a partner in his family law firm Kaushik & Associates, India where he heads the shipping division since early 2019.
Ritesh has provided his consultancy services as techno-legal expert in mediation proceedings and early intervention proceedings in shipping disputes to shipping claims and recovery firm W.E. Cox, London since early 2019. He has gained experience in Hull & Machinery Claims during his tenure as consultant with Edge Brokers, London. He also acts for several International and Indian clients for early resolution of commercial shipping and industrial disputes. Furthermore, he also acts to secure compensation for several clients in PI / Onboard Death claims.
As marine engineer, Ritesh has successfully led diverse engineering teams during several ships’ power plant operations, bunker operations, dry dockings, change of flag/class surveys, ship sale/purchase, special/intermediate surveys, safety inspections and internal/external audits principally for LPG Tankers, Ro-Ro and General Cargo Vessels. He is member of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, London.
