Captain Duncan Cuthill has 30 years’ experience in marine consultancy within the oil & gas sector following a 16-year seagoing career on a variety of vessels including general cargo, LPG tankers, RoRo offshore diving & construction and drilling rigs.

In his shore-based career, roles have included General Manager and MD of marine contracting businesses and management roles with major marine consulting firms. His consultancy experience includes new technology development, project management of mooring operations, movement of drilling rigs, marine warranty, P&I work and general marine projects.

In addition to being a qualified Master Mariner, he holds a Master’s degree (LLM) in International Maritime Law, a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) and is an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute (AFNI).
