Chris Heilpern has over thirty years’ experience in oil markets.  He spent nearly twenty years as a front-line trader in physical and derivative markets working for an oil major and top trading houses.   He traded crude oil and products in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, handling everything from barges to VLCC’s.  He worked as a financial and derivatives trader for top investment banks and managed futures, swaps, options and complex structured products for clients across Asia and the Middle East.

Chris has extensive experience in consulting, teaching and training.   Since 2009 he has been teaching commodities and commodity trading at top French business schools including Edhec and Skema.  He provides oil trading and markets training to top trading houses, major oil companies and national oil companies.  He has worked as a quantum and trading dispute expert for ten years handling all manners of valuations and claims across the oil spectrum and around the globe.
